Empowering Families. Promoting Health Equity. Feeding Every Baby.

Our Mission

Every family deserves access to compassionate, high-quality breastfeeding support—no matter their income, background, or circumstances. The Nurture and Nourish Initiative promotes health equity by ensuring that all parents have the resources they need to feed their babies with confidence and care.

Why It Matters

Accessing expert lactation support can be challenging for many families. Transportation barriers, medical limitations, and caregiving responsibilities often make travel impossible. Additionally, families need lactation professionals who can communicate in their language and respect their cultural traditions.

We step in where the system falls short—offering in-home certified lactation support to families who need it most.

The Challenge

Not all insurance companies cover in-home lactation visits. This means countless parents and babies miss out on critical early care that sets the foundation for lifelong health and bonding. And currently there aren’t enough BIPOC nurses who are multilingual.

Bridging the Gap

Our organization helps fund in-home lactation services for families who would otherwise go without. It can also help a BIPOC registered nurse obtain a certification to become a Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Together, we can make sure every baby has the opportunity to thrive, be nourished, and be loved.
